More updates should roll out during Apple's WWDC 2017 next week.

In a nod to Amazon streaming fans, Apple is also bringing Amazon Prime to its Apple TV app.

Apple "can't afford to yield valuable real-estate in the heart of people's homes to Amazon, Google and others", said Geoff Blaber, research analyst at CCS Insight. Developers will get a new set of APIs (application programming interface) to be able to integrate these in their apps.

At WWDC, Apple also showed off a new iPad and a new computer called iMac Pro.

A fresh video from YouTube channel EverythingApplePro walks us through some of the most important changes in iOS 11.

Apple on Monday rolled out new Siri capabilities to better integrate the voice-activated assistant across devices, a move that comes as the service faces stiff competition from rival offerings like Amazon.com's Alexa. The new features earning the most applause from the audience, however were the ability to block videos from automatically playing in Safari and intelligent tracking prevention, essentially stopping those pesky targeted ads from following you around the internet.

Apple today announced iOS 11, the latest version of its mobile operating system.

And the fact that macOS devices and a wireless keyboard are mentioned, this could mean that the earlier rumor of Apple announcing a new MacBook lineup is true.

The feature, announced at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) now taking place in California, comes after a number of lawsuits in North America where drivers distracted by their phones have been involved in life-changing crashes. Siri will also be able to translate English to Chinese, French, German, Italian and Spanish in iOS11.

"HomePod" will be available starting in December, initially in Australia, Britain and the US.

- iOS 11 will be released later this year, with the main improvements being a new control centre and updates to Siri.

Apple is also launching AFKit, which Apple is hoping will allow iPhone and iPads to become a major augmented reality platform.

However, there are also chances that this new feature could be a re-branding of Apple's iCloud Drive.

Apple has also played around with the Photos app, with new High Efficiency Image File Format (HEIF) tech slashing the size of photo files taken on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
