Durant leads Warriors' rally past Cavaliers

Golden State closed on an 11-0 run and shut out Cleveland after J.R. Smith stuck a 3-pointer at 3:09 for a six-point Cavs lead. Wednesday night's win ran the Warriors' record in the 2017 NBA Playoffs to a spotless 15-0, making them the first team in NBA Playoff history to win their first 15 games in a single postseason.

James, who is averaging a triple-double in the 2017 Finals (32 points, 12.3 rebounds, 10.3 assists), and the Cavs edged the Warriors in Game 7 past year after falling behind 3-1, becoming the first team to ever overcome such a deficit in the Finals. The Warriors later flew out to visit Durant in the Hamptons and had a positive meeting that included Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, and Green telling Durant that they're all willing to sacrifice for him in order to win.

Points Kevin Durant scored in the fourth quarters of this year's Finals, one fewer than the combined tally of the Cavaliers' Big Three - LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love.

"I feel like if we come in with the same energy, same effort and physicality as we did in Game 3, we will give ourselves a good chance to win", LeBron James said on Thursday. They're going to be wanting a win from their team.

A final three minutes that head coach Tyronn Lue said he didn't even remember afterwards, showing just how devastating it really was for the Cavs.

James had 27 points in the first half; Irving had 21 points in the second.

"I gave everything I had tonight", James said after the 118-113 loss. Irving picked up his play, scoring 38 points with majority coming off of hard shots.

Durant's vicious game-winner with 45 seconds to go?

"If we win the championship, I'm like 99 percent sure we don't get him", Green told ESPN.

The Cleveland Cavaliers' stars played a near-perfect game.

Irving missed an off-balance 3-pointer and Durant and Curry each made two free throws on the next Golden State possessions to seal Cleveland's fate.

"Last season was a very unique year for a lot of different reasons and we learned a lot", Curry said Wednesday night. It's sports. You have an opportunity to sign one of the best players, and you can do it, go ahead and do it.

Looking at the way things have moved in the first three matches, the Cavs have to come up with something extra special to beat Warriors, who are favourites to win 4-0 and take home the National Basketball Association title. The Warriors were not evasive when asked about their chase of a ideal 16-0 record. Most will say he is clearly the difference between the 2017 and 2016 finals, which the Cavaliers won in seven games.

The Golden State Warriors have dominated the National Basketball Association 2017 Playoffs like no other. The Cavs did a relatively good job of getting back, but didn't do enough to make the Warriors put on the breaks and try to score against a set defense.
