On a new adventure tour of Indonesia's archipelagos, we come face to face with one of its most famous inhabitants, the amazing Komodo Dragon, on this adventure we will know about the customs, characteristics, diets and stories related to this magnificent creature.

This incredible specimen is also known as the Komodo Monster or Komodo Varano and is the region's largest predator, weighing about 70 kg and measuring between 2 and 3 meters long. It is mainly a scavenger, but there have been cases of hunting and also ambushing different types of prey, including birds, snakes, rodents, crabs, fish, snails, goats, deer, wild boar, water buffaloes and reptiles and even other Komodo dragons, where we can see that this creature also practices cannibalism.

At present this animal is threatened by the danger of extinction, due to the activities of the human beings within its territory, which normally travels during the day in search of prey and taking advantage of the heat of the sun, since like many reptiles is a cold-blooded animal and its activity is limited.

This animal is a direct descendant of the ancient Varanus Megalania that lived more than 100 million years ago and measured more than 7 meters long, popular belief that the bite of Komodo Dragon thanks to the high number of batteries in his saliva was responsible for the death of his victims, but new studies show that like his ancestor, Komodo Dragon is an animal capable of excreting venom responsible for preventing blood clotting and dilating vessels blood, this in combination with the bite of the dragon generates a rapid bleeding by the victims.
