URKU WASI, which translates Casa en la Montaña, is a project that promotes the application of appropriate technologies directed to the communities under the premise that the design and social innovation are key tools for the development of ancestral and contemporary Ecuador.

The result of our research led us to consider land as a constructive, common and essential element to all human beings, which contributes to sustainability, empowerment and ancestral connections, as well as its bioclimatic, acoustic and thermal advantages.

The Superadobe is a ground construction technique - defined by the Architect Iranian American Nader Khalili - which has been implemented in rural communities in various parts of the world.

The Superadobe consists basically of tubular sacks filled with stabilized and compressed earth that with "catenary", preconceived geometry, Are crated comfortable domes, beautiful earthquake resistant structures, on a very human scale, with self-sustaining characteristics that harmonize with our mountainous landscape, winding and natural.
