Urban Health Plan's Health Information Place Opens

Assemblymember Marcos Crespo, together with Urban Health Plan's President and CEO Paloma Hernández (center), inaugurated the organization's Health Information Place.

Urban Health Plan has officially opened a separate location for community residents to receive information and enroll in health insurance coverage offered through the New York State Health Marketplace. "There are 92,000 people in the Bronx who qualify for health insurance through the Marketplace," said Paloma. Hernandez, President and CEO of Urban Health Plan. "I am happy that we can provide the community with this important resource and be able to assist them in person to answer any of their questions and enroll them in health insurance."

Enrollers provide in-person application assistance to individuals, families and small businesses and their employees. Recruiters offer personal assistance to individuals, families and small businesses and their employees. The Health Information Place eliminates barriers to the application process, providing assistance in several languages, from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. at 6:00 pm

Health Information Place opened on December 2, 2013 and has been enrolling community members in a health insurance plan that fits their needs.
