Bond No 9. Sutton Place

The specific locality for this essence? Sutton Place, The elongation of six blocks of attractive pre-war buildings that form a sandwich between 59 Street Bridge and the U.N. Building. This quiet, little-known and discreetly elegant enclave dates back to the year 1875, when a shipping magnate named Effingham B. Sutton built the first reddish stone houses in the area. Today, it houses United Nations missions, its ambassadors and diplomats (most notably the Secretary General, whose official residence is there), oozes an international flavor and a distinctive ambassador style.

While the traditional authoritative and secured role of men in world diplomacy is appropriate, we have given Sutton Place, a profile of essentially masculine essence. It is a striking floral oriented mixture whose main notes are strong and spicy cocktails: citrus and mandarin bergamot combined with spicy pink pepper, fresh but intense cassis and tasty and tropical pineapple. In the center of Sutton Place is an authoritative floral bouquet: seductive jasmine, abundant lilies and outstanding patchouli. What produces this essence is the definitive bona fides of strong classic masculine base notes: warm and resolute amber next to animal and fur musk, which are softened by a light touch of vanilla. > The bottle of The Sutton Place is the first in the repertoire of Bond No. 9 that will have brown color - a dark ripe brown with a pure tone, with reminiscent of tactile texture of snake skin. Superimposed on the front and center of this texture are the letters shown in a simple real gold color.
